Autism Sunday - February 8, 2009
Autism Sunday, the second Sunday in February, originated in 2002 in the UK by Ivan and Charika Corea, parents of a child with Autism. Churches of all denominations remember those affected by Autism and hold them up in prayer.

Advocates all around to world utilize this day to educate the general public about Autism and speak out on the issues affecting families living with Autism. Supporters also use this day to urge politicans, and other community leaders, to do the same.

Autism Sunday is recognized internationally and, with the urge that people pray where ever they are that day, the observance of Autism Sunday by individuals is growing.

At the Kids' Inaugural: We Are The Future Concert...
...we were giving out Noah's Pretzels Autism Awareness wristbands, while offering the most extraordinary pretzel products you'll ever enjoy!

This free concert was hosted by Michelle Obama and Jill Biden to honor military families. Enthusiastic youngsters, many were girls, screamed and stomped their feet in excitement for their favorite musical acts. The line-up included The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Bow Wow, and Demi Lovato. Appearances were made by Queen Latifah, Usher, Jamie Foxx, Billy Ray Cyrus, and George Lopez.

The message from Michelle Obama: “You kids are the future of this great nation. And at this extraordinary moment in our nation’s history, we wanted you to be able to join in on this celebration and share this incredible journey with us. You don’t need to wear a uniform to serve this country. We all have something incredible to contribute to the life of this nation. And kids, this means you, too.”
